PTAA National Tattoo Convention 2008
On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May, Mike, Morag, Dave, Andy, Josh and Sarah packed up tattoo gear, banners, merchandise, shiney shoes, silly hats and of course family and about 20 or so tattoo friends to journey by car and plane to Melbourne for the 23rd Annual Professional Tattooing Association of Australia's National Tattoo Convention 2008.
The Tattoo Gallery had a tattoo booth this year, so while our studio was closed in Adelaide, Mike, Andy and Dave tattooed full on at the convention. We actually closed the shop a couple of days early so Mike Andy and Josh could drive over and lend a hand to set the tattoo booths and trade stalls up.
The weekend was a success - it was great as always to have the support of our clients and mates who came and partied with us, to show their tattoos and enjoy Melbourne. Mike tattooed hard out Friday and Saturday, we partied Saturday night and 'chilled' out in Brunswick St Sunday - yum Brunswick St breakkies at lunchtime are the go!! We sold a bit of merchandise, shop T's, hoodies and caps plus Morag got the ManicPanic stuff out there and sold a bit of that as well. At the presentation dinner on Saturday night, Mike's tattoo art was recognized and he won a first and a third for Best Tribal Female and Male! We were all proud of him. Hangover's Galore!! Well done to Chantelle and Rhett!!
