KYM JOHNSON – Future World Champion, Muay Thai Kick Boxing
Kym “The Technician” Johnson is one of Adelaide’s finest up and coming!
Trained by Alan Wong and Jeremy Keeping of the Flinders Uni Muay Thai Club, Kym displays courage, heart, technique and at the young age of 21, is fast gaining good experience and an impressive fight record in Adelaide.
Kym travels 45 minutes each to way to train and is a diligent student. He has trained in martial arts from the age of 14 years, starting with Zen Do Kai initially for fitness and self-defense but moved into Muay Thai after about 6 months. A trip to Thailand with Jeremy cemented Kym’s choice to fight in the ring and after his first at the age of 16, it’s been a forward focus from then on - in the short term to win the WMC Australian Title and the ultimate goal being to become World Champion for himself and South Australia!
Kym is currently ranked 5th in Oceania in the Junior Middleweight Division all the fighters above Kym are professionals who train daily and only focus on Kickboxing, whereas Kym is still working full time, in his 4th and final of a Boilermaker/Welder apprenticeship, with F Miller and Co in Ottoway.

After Kym finishes his apprenticeship, he plans to travel to Thailand and live and train in Muay Thai where he can solely concentrate on fighting. He is currently the Amateur South Pacific Welterweight Champion and hopes that after a few more fights he might get a shot at the Australian title.
In his last fight, against Jason Scerri, Kym won by unanimous decision and Foxtel Sports camera crew were ringside, filming the entire Knees of Fury for viewing on Foxtel Sports – a great exposure for both Kym, kickboxing nationally and also Ethan Shepp, Director of Sheppster Promotions www.sheppsterpromotions.com.au and Knees of Fury here in South Australia!
