What's Been Happening - Winter so Far......
Well it's winter, it's cold and raining but hey - that's cool, not complaining just stating a fact... Rain is good. Seasonal change is good. Adelaide is 'ticking along' as usual, maybe not as busy as the rest of Oz, but that's cool as well. Voluntary lock-outs are on with most of our city dance-clubs assisting in trying to curb Adelaide's binge drinking and violent crime problem!! Hey yeah, did you know that 4 drinks in an evening is considered a binge! Jeebus!
That's bad for Australia in it? A country where many a major decision has been made around the bbq during a Sunday family binge!! We've also seen/heard/blogged/discussed to death the ever increasing price of petrol...this, along with the 3 major interest rate hikes we've experienced in the last 6 months has really made a difference to pretty much everyone. Business all across the board has experienced a 'downturn' - well I guess if it all gets too much we can just fuck off to rehab [go Gordon, thanks for de-sensitizing the word fuck] with Amy oh and if she loses much more weight her neck will snap under the weight of her huge fucking beehive!
On the plus side of Adelaide, there's not much "peak hour" traffic, you can still buy a kick-arse house for under 400k and the wine [oh, as long as it's not four glasses..] and food culture of the Barossa and Clare Valleys are world-class. Another cool thing about SA is that we are taking the lead in eco-safe alternatives to energy and other shit that can preserve our natural resources and minimize carbon emission!

Also on the plus side of Adelaide, The Tattoo Gallery is also 'ticking along' with some renovation plans to kit-out one of our studios and a new temp control system for both us and our clients.
One thing we have been long in deciding and finally made an executive decision on this winter is to cancel our colour display ad in the yellow pages directory. This ad was costing us around 4k a year and we've been thinking for a few years now - "why do we pay it"? Every person who comes into our studio, when asked how they heard of us say 'word of mouth' or 'website' or 'internet'. I mean let's face it "google" is king! So we've stepped out of our comfort zone and said no thanks to Sensis in 08/09 and we'll take our chances with a line entry in the yellow pages directory and yellow pages online.
We will continue to market and grow our own self-driven website. This is home for us. People aren't dumb [and potential tattoo clients especially]. They don't just see the biggest brightest ad in the yellow pages and gravitate to that when it comes to sourcing a tattoo, they talk to their friends,
look on the internet, come in for a consult or consult online. Stay tuned...
