TRIBUTE: THE DEVILS REJECTS

By FilmMaker Rob Zombie

Rob Zombie is an awesome film maker. He's either gifted or has been making movies for years that haven't made the mainstream [or he didn't want them to].

The Devils Rejects, sequel but not sort of, to House of 1000 Corpses [it had the same characters with a continuation of their lives but was filmed in a different way - way as in a different genre not pure cliché horror but murderous evil] is excellent - we love it! Everybody's fuct up and there's no happy ending, actually you can make what you want of the ending - we reckon they didn't die - no headshots!

Sheriff Wydell is probably the most fuct in the end - you might remember the actor William Forsythe who plays the venge-rotting Wydell in Rejects, also was in the biker movie "Stone" a few years back - he played "Ice" a hard dude who got wasted during a high speed motorcycle race. Anyway there was something about Otis and Baby that was likable, they were no bullshit, loyal, sick and mental and what about Cap'n Spalding...... "What'sa matter kid, don't you like clowns?", "Don't we make ya laugh?", "Aren't we fuckin' funny?" .

The soundtrack is worth a listen, For those of you who preferred the typical Zombie-style music of the first soundtrack "Corpses" you might not like "Rejects". Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way" , "Rock On" David Essex, and Lynryd Skynyrd's "Freebird" need to be listened to. Great 70's rock guitaring. There's some Allman Bros, Terry Reid and a couple of full-blown country tracks in there as well. Check it out. Get onto thedevilsrejects.com and meet Baby [played by Sheri Moon Zombie]-- she's a demented barbie-bitch with a severe mean streak and excellent knife-throwing skills!
